Following the first regional alcohol policy talk of the Northern region, we held the alcohol policy talk for the Eastern Region of Uganda today.
We had 3 guest presenters for this edition of the Easter Uganda region - with Honourable Kauma Fazira, the Deputy Mayor of Jinja City delivering a very wealthy keynote speech. We also listened in from Mr. Ssemwanga Joel, the Executive Director of Uganda Mental Health Fellowship Atanekontola in Jinja share experiences from the field in Jinja where they operate. We also listened in from Mr. Opio Joseph Ekodeu, the Education Officer (Sports) and Facilitator of PVE; Prevention of Violent Extremists Project as well as Mr. Daniel Eigu, a policy analyst and a human rights defender from Soroti, Eastern Uganda share with us perspectives from the field in rural Uganda, on why alcohol legislation is much needed.
We also had our Board Member and Treasurer, Mr. Jackson Isabirye Bazaala share with the participants a word from our Board, on why we are hosting these policy series.
