For the first time ever, the United Nations Civil Society Conference was held on the African continent, in Nairobi on the 9th and 10th days of May 2024.
The theme for this convening was "Shaping a Future of Global and Sustainable Progress", with the view that the deliberations received in this conference will feed into the Summit of the Future, to be held in September 2024.
A number of subjects were discussed over those two days namely the youth, mental health, children's lives, policy, land rights, technology, disability and inclusion, the Sustainable Development Goals, collective action between the youth and the old among others all which were fed into the "ImPACT for the Future Outcome Package" that will articulate the three objectives of a conference that is inclusive, impactful and innovative and in the end, will be fed into the September 2024 Summit of the Future.
Our Secretariat was represented by our National Coordinator, Nassanga Margaret and our Social Media Lead, Ntensibe Edgar Michael.
A number of our member institutions were equally represented at this Conference namely Uganda Girl Guides Association, Uganda Youth Development Link, Uganda Health Communications Alliance, Voices For Health.
