On 6th of July 2023, we joined our member Uganda Youth Development Link at Golden Tulip Hotel in Kampala for their press conference and stakeholders' engagement to commemorate the World Drugs Day 2023. 

Among what was discussed, we heard from Kasirye Rogers on the national picture of drug abuse in Uganda. We also heard from Dr. Basangwa David on how the global perspective feeds into the local prevention, treatment and rehabilitation programmes. 

Thirdly, we heard from Ms. Anna Nabulya on UYDEL's interventions for youth in Kampala slums, that has happened for the last 30 years. 

Finally, we heard from Mutaawe Rogers on the perspective of drug abuse prevention efforts undertaken in Uganda by non-governmental organisations.
