We spent our afternoon today at Kazo Mixed Primary School, at a community outreach. Alongside the team from Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development 's Sauti 116 helpline and our member institution Kawempe Youth Development Association, we (Ms. Namwero Daphine and Ntensibe Edgar) interacted with the community of Kazo on gender-based violence, the importance of fighting it and it's impact on their children and families, at large. A live demonstration of calling the 116 toll-free helpline was done before all congregants, indicating that assistance against gender-based violence is a phone call away, from anywhere you are in Uganda.
