In conjunction with our member organisation Foundation for Open Development, we held the Eastern Uganda stakeholders meeting on alcohol harm and legislation in Uganda in Tororo.

Themed "Curbing alcohol-related harm: A key strategy for achieving the Eastern Region's aspiration", we convened regional leaders at all levels ranging from the local Government, security organs, Cultural leaders, religious leaders, science and research, civil society members, Members of Parliament, media among others to get their views on alcohol harm in the region and what we can collectively do, to mitigate it for the wholesome development of Uganda.

From our end, we set out with a major objective of equipping all these stakeholders with recent evidence on alcohol consumption, related harm and effective counter measures that can help in the support of alcohol regulation in Uganda.

It was a very fruitful discussion; we look forward to implementing the recommendations and views we received in this convention.
